Updating ChromeOS
If a student's school Chromebook is operating slower than usual- check to see if the OS needs to be updated. You can do this without a tech department employee and it usually takes 5-10 minutes.
TO UPDATE THE CHROMEBOOK
Have the student login using their school email and password. (firstname.lastname@student.coahoma.esc18.net and 00studentID)
Click the small bar on the bottom right and then click the settings gear.
On the left, click "About Chrome OS"
This will pull up the screen you see below. If the chromebook does not automatically update, click "check for updates" and it will then start. Once it's done updating, you'll need to restart the chromebook. Chromebook updates should only take 3-5 minutes.
