Common Issues Printing from Macs
1. Printing Held for Authentication
Select System Preferences > Printers and Scanners > Select the printer with the error > Open print queue
Select the refresh button next to the job that is held. A popup box will appear asking for credentials. Sign in with your computer credentials and the print job should resume.
2. Job seems to go through, but never prints
Most likely the print queue is paused. Select System Preferences > Printers and Scanners > Select the desired printer > Open print queue
Remove duplicate jobs as needed by selecting the x to the right of the job. Select the "play" button in the top right corner to print all jobs listed.
3. Print job will not send to the printer
The Macs will not print to the Xerox printers from the Apple Preview app. You will need to print from Google Chrome or from Adobe DC. By default, the Mac opens PDFs and other files with the Preview app.
To change this:
Open Finder > Hover over desired file > Two finger click > Select Open With > Select desired program.
Once opened, a popup will appear asking to allow this program to become the default for the file type. Select yes.
